WRSC & IRSC 2015 is over!

Thank you all teams, paper authors and everyone who has helped during this week.

IRSC 2015 was very interesting, with papers covering many areas connected to robotic sailing.

The first day of WRSC had less wind than we had wished for, and the second day was windier and rainier than most teams like it. Credit to Autonomus who went out in these circumstances.

Thursday and Friday of the championship had very nice weather conditions, and we hope you all remember Åland Islands this way.

Hoping to see all of you again next year!

First championship day

The current scores can be found at the tracking system scores page

There was not much wind parts of the first championship day.

But towards the afternoon and evening we had a few boats out on the water.

Thank you Quentin Descours for the images!

The weather for the second day does not look any good, but we may have some brave teams out.

Weather prognosis, plus insects

We have had really nice weather for a while, about 20 degrees (Celsius) and sunshine. This seems to be over, and we are expecting more shifting weather.

The maximum temperatures during the day will probably be between 15 and 20 degrees, the minimum during the night around 10. It looks like we will have winds between 5-10 m/s.There might be some rain – hopefully not so much and mostly on Monday.

There may be some mosquitoes, but they have not been much of a problem this summer. Don’t go with bare feet and legs in high grass and check for ticks, they can carry severe infections.

Buoy positions

The buoy positions can be found here.

More information of the starting and finishing lines for the triangular and fleet race will appear the day before the races when we have an idea about the wind directions.

Information e-mails sent

Information e-mails have been sent to the team leaders of World Robotic Sailing Championship, and to all registered for International Robotic Sailing Conference. If you haven’t received it, check your junk e-mail folder or contact us.

See you soon!

Five teams registered!

Now you can find information about IfA Autonomous Sailing Team that has registered in the micro-sailboat category. Two more teams have registered in the sailboat category, one from Aberystwyth University in Wales, and one from Åland University of Applied Sciences. Information about these teams will soon be available.
